ABGAM has developed a CAD references encoder embedded on ENOVIA V6 and the main market CAD systems. In this way when a designer adds a new design element, independently if this is a part, assembly or drawing, the designer has an encoder tool that will properly rename the file. The renaming logic or recoding is conditioned by the inserted element into the CAD, apart from the customer’s own codification rules.

The utility suggests, according to the element to codify and the user selection based on the element family, a codification based on the company business logic. In this way the designer will validate it or will change it in case it is needed. It is important to remark that the Automatic Codification System changes the property that points out the element named inside the CAD tool; at the same time the file is renamed with the proper name. In this way the work with designs is eased.
